Nativity Scene Project at City Hall
Our Past-President, Rev. Kevin Kraglund, has been representing the EDCC on a Nativity Scene Project that is scheduled to be unveiled in time for Advent 2019. A group of students from NAIT’s Digital Media and IT Department is involved in developing a virtual reality experience for Edmontonians at City Hall. Using the latest technology, the display will be interactive and will include images, text and music. At present, the proposed scene will include the stable, a few animals, Mary, Joseph, Jesus, and the star. However, plans are to also include angels and the Three Wisemen. According to the proposal, the virtual image will be deployable with mobile devices on the ground in the vicinity of the interfaith display case at City Hall.
More details will be shared as this pilot project unfolds. The EDCC is excited about this development and the highly innovative and interactive manner in which the story of Jesus’ birth will be depicted.
